What inspired you to go abroad?
I wanted to do something meaningful during my gap year and experience different cultures and lifestyles.
Why did you choose the “Teaching English in Prague” program? Why with TEFL PRO Prague?
The Teaching English in Prague program was the most suitable option for my situation. It allowed me to develop new skills at the same time provided me with plenty of working opportunities. TEFL PRO Prague had really good reviews and reputation, which caught my attention initially. Communications with Petra regarding the program further confirmed my decision to go with TEFL Pro Prague.
What was your favorite part about Prague?
Prague city was so beautiful. I felt like I was living in fairy tale every single day. The people were so friendly also.
What made your experience abroad unique?
I was able to talk to local people in Prague through teaching and understand the local culture better.
How did TEFL PRO Prague support you throughout your program?
TEFL Pro Prgaue provided very comprehensive courses to equip me with teaching skills I needed. It also helped me connect with peers who were also overseas teaching and helped me find teaching placements after completion of courses.
Describe a typical day in the life of your program.
I would travel between places and visit students at their workplace to teach English lessons. Between lessons, I would stop by teaching schools to prepare teaching materials for the next lesson. In the evening, I would explore the city and enjoy a nice Czech meal out with friends I had just met and go back to my accomodation to prepare some teaching materials for the next day before I go to bed.
What did you enjoy doing in your free time?
I enjoyed doing short weekend trips to cities and countries near by. I also enjoy walking around prague city and explore different restaruants and areas.
What was your accommodation like?
It was a young professionals accommodation with expats from all over the world. I had a room to myself and shared one bathroom with my neightbour. The kitchen was also shared between several residents on the same level but everyone was super lovely and I got to meet new people in the kitchen area.
What is one thing every participant should know before participating in your program?
Living close to public transportation and not far from the prague town centre is important as teaching might require travelling between places and easy access to public transport can make life a lot easier.
Now that you’re home, how has your time abroad impacted your life?
YES. I always think back on the time I was in Prague and wish I could do it again. I met so many nice people, had so many fun and unforgettable conversations, explored so many places and learnt so much about myself.
Would you recommend TEFL Pro Prague to others? Why?
Absolutely. It was such a well-rounded program with helpful staff members and lovely trainers. They were super helpful in every aspect of your life in Prague. You will develop close relationships with peers through the program.
